What connections do
The Connections page lets you link Project Commander to external systems. Once connected, data such as accounting accounts, contacts, and VAT rates can sync between systems, reducing double-entry and keeping your records aligned.
This page is available to Super Admins only. If you need a connection set up, ask your Super Admin to configure it.
Available integrations
Accounting platforms
| Platform | What it syncs |
|---|---|
| Xero | Accounts, contacts, VAT rates, Invoices, Credit Notes |
| Sage | Accounts, contacts, VAT rates, Invoices, Credit Notes |
Each accounting platform has its own connection card. Click the card to begin the authentication process with the external provider. Once connected, the card shows the connection status and provides a disconnect option.
Vehicle tracking
| Platform | What it provides |
|---|---|
| RAM Tracking | GPS vehicle and asset tracking data |
The RAM connection card works the same way — authenticate with RAM to enable location tracking features within Project Commander.
Connecting to an accounting platform
- 1
Navigate to Settings > System > Connections.
- 2
Click the connection card for the platform you want to link — Xero or Sage.
- 3
You will be redirected to the provider's login page. Sign in with your accounting credentials and authorise Project Commander to access your data.
- 4
After authorisation, you are returned to Project Commander. The connection card updates to show an active connection status.
Connecting or disconnecting an accounting platform affects the entire company. All users will see the synced data. Make sure you are connecting to the correct organisation within your accounting software before authorising.
After connecting
Once an accounting platform is connected:
- Accounts from the provider appear on the Accounts settings page.
- VAT rates from the provider are synced to the VAT Rates settings page.
- Invoices, Credit Notes, and contacts can be pushed to the provider from within Project Commander.
Disconnecting
To disconnect, return to the Connections page and use the disconnect option on the relevant card. Existing synced data remains in Project Commander but will no longer update.
