Why archive instead of delete
ZeroCount doesn't permanently delete projects — you archive them instead. Archiving:
- Removes a project from your default Active list so it doesn't clutter the dashboard.
- Keeps every drawing, marker, zone, scale, and link intact for as long as you want.
- Can be reversed at any time with a single click.
If you've finished a job and you don't need to look at it weekly, archive it. If a client comes back six months later, you restore it and pick up exactly where you left off.
Archiving a project
- 1
Open the project from the Projects dashboard.
- 2
Click Actions in the top-right.
- 3
Choose Archive . A loading overlay appears with "Archiving project…".
- 4
When it finishes, the project drops out of the default dashboard view. You'll still be inside it — close the tab or navigate back to Projects to confirm.
Finding archived projects
By default the dashboard only shows Active projects. To see archived ones:
- 1
Go to the Projects dashboard and switch to Table view via Actions → Toggle Layout → Table .
- 2
In the Status column filter, choose Archived. The list refreshes to show only archived projects.
- 3
Archived projects are also tagged with a small Archived badge inline.
Cards view hides archived projects entirely. If you want to see them visually, switch to Table view and filter — or restore the project first, then switch back to Cards.
Restoring (unarchiving) a project
- 1
Find the archived project (see above) and open it.
- 2
Click Actions .
- 3
Choose Unarchive . This option only appears for archived projects. A loading overlay shows "Restoring project…".
- 4
When it finishes, the project returns to the Active list and the Archived badge is removed.
What if I really need to delete a project?
Permanent deletion isn't available from the UI for safety reasons — too many people have accidentally deleted projects in other tools and lost weeks of work. If you genuinely need a project removed (for compliance reasons, for example), contact your administrator.
