The project view
Open any project from the Projects list and you land in the project view. This is where every drawing in the project lives: you upload PDFs here, sort them into Categories, read their badges, and tick the ones you want to open before pressing Submit. Nothing is counted on this page; it is the filing cabinet for the takeoff workspace.
What you see
- Breadcrumb — the header reads Projects › the project name. Click Projects to return to the list. Once a drawing is open the breadcrumb grows to include the category and the drawing name.
- View toggle — Grid view shows each drawing as a thumbnail card; List view shows one compact row per drawing. Your choice is remembered.
- Actions — Refresh the drawing list, Duplicate or Update the project, and Archive or Recover it.
- Add Category — creates a new category, optionally importing a whole folder of PDFs into it.
- Categories panel — one collapsible card (or row) per category, each with its own drawing list, upload zone and header controls for rotating, renaming, clearing and deleting.
- Bulk action bar — appears above the categories as soon as one drawing is ticked. It shows N selected with Move, rotate, download and delete controls for the whole selection.
- Submit — opens the ticked drawing in the takeoff workspace. It is greyed out until something is selected.
Where uploads go
Every drawing belongs to at least one category, so a brand-new project shows no upload zone until you add a category. After that, each category has its own Upload or drag file to start tile (grid) or Add file button (list), plus Choose folder. Drop a PDF onto a category and it lands there; you can move it or share it with other categories later.
Key features
- Categories — group drawings by discipline, floor or package, and reorder them by drag.
- Badges — each drawing shows its status, revision, vector or image engine, and how many categories it belongs to.
- Multi-select — tick several drawings to move, rotate, download or delete them together.
- Presence — small avatars show which colleagues currently have a drawing open.
Next steps
Start with Uploading drawings and Organising with categories, then read Drawing cards and badges so the labels on each card make sense. When you are ready to count, Opening a drawing explains what Submit does and how to switch drawings without coming back here.
