Why status matters
On a project with forty sheets it is easy to lose track of which ones are counted and which are untouched. Each drawing carries a status badge for exactly that, and the statuses roll up into the project's own status on the Projects page: a project with every drawing Completed reads Complete, one with nothing started reads New, and anything in between reads Active. The three statuses

| Completed | A user marked the drawing finished. |
The badge appears on the drawing card and row on the project page, and the same status drives the Mark as Complete item in the workspace Actions menu.
Automatic transitions
You do not need to manage the first step. As soon as you do takeoff work on an open drawing, its status moves from Uploaded to In Progress without a message. Takeoff work means counting or detecting symbols, drawing linear or area measurements, placing count markers, adding zones or AoIs, changing a group's colour or scale, or ignoring colours. Rotating the drawing, editing its revision, adding annotations or the Live Legend, and writing group notes are not takeoff work and leave the status alone.
If a drawing is Completed and you change it, it drops back to In Progress and a toast reads "name" moved back to In Progress. That is deliberate: a Completed badge should mean nobody has touched the drawing since it was signed off.
Marking a drawing complete
There are two places to do it.
From the badge on the project page

Find the drawing's card or row.

Click its status badge. The tooltip reads Mark as completed.
The badge turns green. Clicking a Completed badge does the reverse (tooltip Mark as in progress) and sets it to In Progress, not back to Uploaded.
From the workspace

With the drawing open, click Actions in the toolbar.

Choose Mark as Complete .
When the drawing is already Completed the same item reads Mark as In Progress .
What Completed changes
- Background searches skip it. With the preference Search all files in category on, detecting a new symbol or capturing a linear takeoff sample on one vector drawing also searches every other drawing in the same category. Completed drawings are left out, so a signed-off sheet does not gain unexpected new groups. The summary toast counts them as skipped. See Search all drawings in category.
- The project status reflects it. Once every drawing is Completed the project shows Complete on the Projects page.
- Working on it flips it back. Any takeoff work returns the drawing to In Progress with a toast, as described above. Opening a Completed drawing to look at it does not.
Mark sheets Completed as you finish them rather than at the end of the job. The badge is the quickest way to see what is left, and it keeps background category searches away from work you have already checked.
Common issues
A drawing went back to In Progress on its own
Someone changed it. The toast "name" moved back to In Progress appears in the session that made the change. Check with colleagues who show as present on the drawing, then mark it Completed again once you are happy.
Every project reads Active
The New and Complete project statuses depend on the server aggregating drawing statuses. If your projects all show Active regardless of their drawings, that update has not reached your server yet; the per-drawing badges still work.
