When to delete
Delete a file when you want it gone entirely — the PDF and everything inside it. Common reasons:
- The drawing was uploaded to the wrong project by mistake.
- The client sent a revised drawing and you want to remove the superseded one.
- You're tidying up an old project before duplicating it as a template.
If you only want to wipe the markers and zones from a drawing without removing the file itself, use Reset Drawing instead. See Resetting a drawing.
How to delete a file
- 1
In the Project View, find the file's card in the services panel.
- 2
Click the three-dot menu in the top-right of the card.
- 3
Choose Delete .
- 4
Confirm in the dialog that appears. Deletion is immediate once confirmed.
What gets removed
Deletion is permanent. With the file goes:
- The PDF itself (you'll need to re-upload from your local copy if you change your mind).
- Every marker, marker group, and annotation drawn on it.
- Every zone and AOI on the drawing.
- The drawing's scale and calibration.
- Any database, Contractor's Choice, or Assembly links on the drawing's groups.
What's not affected:
- Other files in the same service.
- Other files in the project.
- The Excel exports you've already generated — the file's sheet stays in the existing workbook.
There is no undo. If in doubt, duplicate the project first, then delete from the duplicate — the original stays intact.
Alternative: downloading first
If you might need the original PDF later, download it before deleting. The per-file menu also has a Download option — see Downloading files.
