Single-marker selection
- 1
Click a marker on the canvas. The marker's selection state changes — usually a thicker outline or handle dots.
- 2
From here you can drag it to a new position, press DEL to remove it, or open its context menu with a right-click.
- 3
Click anywhere blank, or press ESC, to deselect.
When you hover a marker, ZeroCount disables panning automatically so the click hits the marker rather than the canvas.
Multi-select with Ctrl/Cmd + drag
The default click-drag pans the canvas. Hold CTRL (Windows/Linux) or CMD (macOS) to switch to marquee mode:
- 1
Hold CTRL (or CMD).
- 2
Click and drag a rectangle across the area you want to select.
- 3
Release. Every marker that falls inside the rectangle is selected.
From there:
- Press DEL to delete them all.
- Drag any selected marker — the rest move with it.
- Right-click for context menu actions on the whole selection.
Multi-select by Ctrl/Cmd-click
- 1
Click the first marker.
- 2
Hold CTRL (or CMD) and click each additional marker you want to add to the selection.
- 3
Ctrl/Cmd-clicking an already-selected marker removes it from the selection.
This is the right approach when the markers you want aren't physically near each other.
Selecting an entire group
- 1
In the sidebar, click the group label to select every marker in that group on the active drawing.
- 2
The canvas highlights every marker in the group.
- 3
From here you can recolour, move, delete, or drag to another group.
Moving selected markers
Click and hold any selected marker, then drag. Every other selected marker moves the same delta. Release to drop.
Coordinates snap to whole drawing units — there's no sub-pixel placement.
If you accidentally move a marker, CTRL+Z undoes the move.
Dragging selected markers to a different group
Drag a single selected marker onto a different group in the sidebar to reassign it. With multiple markers selected, only the one you drag from carries — the others stay in their original group.
To move many markers between groups, use the Move to group option in the right-click context menu (when available) or merge the source group with the target via merging.
See Dragging markers between groups.
Deselecting
Three ways:
- Click an empty area of the canvas.
- Press ESC.
- Use Deselect All Markers from the Edit menu in the toolbar Actions dropdown.
