The account you sign in with
ZeroCount uses your Ensign.Software account. It is the same email address and password you use for the rest of the Ensign estimating software, so there is nothing separate to set up and no second password to remember. If you can sign in to Ensign.Software, you can sign in to ZeroCount.
Your account also carries your company. That is what puts your company name in the sidebar and what decides which projects, component catalogue and templates you see.
The login page
Opening ZeroCount lands you on a single centred card headed Login to your account, with the line Enter your details below to login to EAP beneath it. EAP is the app's internal name and you can ignore it.

Below the fields is the full-width Login button, and under that the line Don't have an account? with a Contact Ensign Software link that opens the Ensign.Software website.
There is no forgot-password link, no "remember me" and no separate single sign-on button. Sign-in is email and password only.
Signing in

Open ZeroCount in your browser. The cursor starts in the Email field.

Enter your Ensign.Software email address.

Enter your password, or press Enter to submit the form from either field.

Click Login. While it checks your details the button shows a spinner and reads Authenticating.., and both fields are locked.
What happens after you sign in
You are taken straight to the dashboard. Before any page draws, a full-screen overlay reading Gathering session information... confirms your session with the Ensign.Software sign-on server. It usually passes in under a second.
From there the left navigation opens on Projects, which is where all your work starts. See Finding your way around for the layout, and Creating a project when you are ready to start a job.
If sign-in fails
A failed attempt puts a red Authentication Failed alert above the form, carrying the reason the sign-on server gave. The usual causes are a mistyped password or an account that is not active.
The form also validates before it sends: Invalid email address or Email is required under the email field, and Password must be at least 6 characters under the password field.
There is no self-service password reset in ZeroCount. If you cannot get in, use the Contact Ensign Software link at the foot of the card, or speak to whoever administers your company's Ensign.Software accounts.
Staying signed in
ZeroCount keeps your session alive in the background and renews it before it expires, so a normal working day needs one sign-in.
Leaving a tab idle no longer signs you out. If you come back to ZeroCount after a long break, it reconnects on its own and carries on with the session you already had. Only an explicit rejection from the sign-on server ends a session; a busy server or a dropped network connection does not.
You can see the state of the connection at any time in the user menu at the foot of the left sidebar. The ring around your avatar is a solid green circle while you are connected and a dashed red one while you are not, and the menu itself opens with a status line reading Connected, Connecting…, Reconnecting… (attempt N) or Offline. If you are offline with edits waiting, it reads Offline — N pending changes, and those changes are sent as soon as the connection returns. There is a Reconnect now button in the same block if you would rather not wait.
Detection, uploads, rotation, deletion and database links are done on the server, so they cannot be queued. If you run one while the connection is down it fails straight away with a message rather than being saved for later. Wait for Connected before running a count.
Signing out

Click your name and avatar at the foot of the left sidebar to open the user menu.

Click Logout at the bottom of the menu, shown in red.
Signing out closes the connection, clears your session and returns you to the login page. The browser Back button will not take you back into the dashboard afterwards, which matters on a shared machine.
The user menu is hidden while the sidebar is collapsed into Review mode. Widen the sidebar again to reach it. See Takeoff and Review modes.
