What comes out of a project
Counting and measuring is only half the job. Once every drawing has been worked through, you need the quantities in a form a QS or estimator can price, and marked-up drawings you can send back to the design team or keep on file. This section covers everything ZeroCount produces from a finished project, and how to check the numbers before they leave the app.
Key features
- The cross-drawing summary — in Review mode the sidebar becomes a set of file tabs plus a Total tab. The Total tab lists every marker group on every drawing in one searchable table, with quantities, linked item codes and the drawing each group came from. See The cross-drawing summary.
- Tidying across drawings — merge or delete detections on drawings you do not have open, and let ZeroCount offer to repeat a group merge on every other drawing that holds the same pair. See Merging and deleting across drawings.
- Export Quantities (.xlsx) — one Excel workbook with a sheet per drawing and a Totals sheet at the end. Lengths and areas are written as numbers, already scaled and calibrated, so the sheet can be summed and pivoted straight away. See Exporting to Excel and Understanding the workbook.
- Export Image (.png) and Export Image (.pdf) — a full-resolution picture of the active drawing with its markers drawn on, or a zip of every drawing in the project. See Exporting drawing images.
- Export Job — a project export for the estimating side of Ensign.Software. It is marked Coming soon on the Projects page and in the project Actions menu while the export is reworked.
Where Export lives
Every export starts from the drawing workspace, and there are two ways to reach the menu:
- In Takeoff mode, open Actions in the header and hover Export . The submenu holds the same items as the Review mode button.
- In Review mode, the header shrinks to a single Export button. Review mode is where you will usually export from, because the cross-drawing summary sits alongside it.
Both menus list Export Quantities (.xlsx) , Export Job , Export Image (.png) and Export Image (.pdf) . The two image items open a further choice of Active File or All Files (.zip) .
