When to use split view
Split view shows a compact list on the left and a live preview panel on the right. Click any row and the panel updates instantly to show the Work Package's headline details — without you ever leaving the list.
It's the right view when you want to:
- Flick through a list of Work Packages to check their status one after another
- Glance at a Work Package's sub-packages without opening the full page
- Hop between several Work Packages to compare them at speed
- Get the gist of a Work Package while you stay on the list to keep your filters
Switch to it from the view toggle in the top-right by clicking Split. Your browser remembers the choice for next time.
What you'll see on the left
To make room for the preview panel, the left-hand list uses a slimmed-down set of columns:
- # — the Work Package number
- Name — the description
- Type — Work Package, Task, Milestone, or Phase
- Status — the current status badge
- Progress — rolled up from the sub-packages underneath
- Project — the parent project (only when you're on the company-wide list)
Click any row to select it. The preview panel on the right updates straight away.
What you'll see on the right
The preview panel gives you a quick summary of whichever Work Package you've selected:
- Header — the number, the name, and the type badge
- Status and dates — the current status, start date, and finish date
- Project and location — the parent project and the site address if there is one
- Sub-packages — the first 8 sub-packages in the tree. If there are more than 8, a "+ more" indicator tells you the list is longer
At the bottom of the panel there's a link through to the full Work Package detail page if you need to make changes.
Split view is read-only by design — it's a way to browse quickly. To edit fields, change status, add sub-packages, or run an allocation, click through to the full detail page from the panel link.
Filtering still works
Split view honours the same filter bar as the table — you can narrow by status, type, or project. The filters apply to the left-hand list, and the preview panel always reflects whichever row is currently selected.
